Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) is the
apex industry chamber of the textile and allied
industries of India. With 20 industry organizations in
the sector covered directly by the Confederation and
close cooperation with several others, including the
Export Promotion Councils, CITI has become the
rallying point for the entire industry covering textiles
and garments of all fibres and also the textile
machinery.
CITI has been organizing an annual event called Asian
Textile Conference (Atexcon) from 2005 onwards.
Atexcon brings together the lead players of Asian
textile industry and their global input suppliers and
service providers to deliberate on capacity building,
innovations in technology, trade and business
opportunities and other regional as well as global
issues concerning this sector.
The 4th edition of Atexcon is scheduled for 17th and
18th September 2009 in “Roof Top”, Hotel Trident,
Nariman Point, Mumbai. Speakers and participants
are being invited from all countries involved in
textiles, clothing, textile machinery and allied
products as well as trade in these products.
Bangladesh, China, India, Sri Lanka and Taiwan are
among the Asian countries expected to be represented
by speakers/participants. Some leaders from the
industry as well as some service providers from
outside Asia will also be included among the speakers
in order to get their perspective on the emerging
scenario.
The theme of the 4th Atexcon is
''Challenges of the Slowdown''. The
Conference will focus on the Global
Slowdown and industry's efforts to meet
the challenges. Detailed presentations
would be made by lead players on:

Retailing
Home Textiles
Garments
The Conference would deliberate on the
developments in the T & C industry of
India and countries like China,
Bangladesh, SriLanka, and Taiwan.
