Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) is the apex industry chamber of the textile and allied industries of India. With 21 industry organizations in the sector covered directly by the Confederation and close cooperation with several others, including the Export Promotion Councils, CITI has become the rallying point for the entire industry covering textiles and garments of all fibres and also the textile machinery.

CITI has been organizing an annual event called Asian Textile Conference (Atexcon) from 2005 onwards. Atexcon brings together the lead players of Asian textile industry and their global input suppliers and service providers to deliberate on capacity building, innovations in technology, trade and business opportunities and other regional as well as global issues concerning this sector.

Carrying forward the vibrant business cooperation generated in the previous ATEXCONs, CITI is organizing the fifth Asian Textile Conference (ATEXCON) on 17th and 18th March 2011.

The theme of the 5th Atexcon will be 'Economic Cooperation Through Textile Trading'. The Conference will focus on the Emerging opportunities through cross country cooperation. Detailed presentations would be made by lead players on:
 
  • Fibres
  • Machinery
  • Retailing
  • Home Textiles
  • Garments
Speakers and participants are being invited from all countries involved in textiles, clothing, textile machinery and allied products as well as trade in these products. Bangladesh, China, India, Sri Lanka and Taiwan, Japan and Korea are among the Asian countries expected to be represented by speakers / participants. Some leaders from the industry as well as some service providers from outside Asia, particularly from USA, EU, Turkey and Africa are also expected to participate at the Atexon in order to get their perspectives on the emerging scenario.
